Either, I would be proud to be, or have a member of my family, associated with either group.
Totally separate missions.
Is a cook better trained than a Navy Seal? Yep. At making omelets and pies.
Yes, though they have different roles.
Yes, in that Delta members are trained to be urban guerrillas and are not recognizable as military troops.
Seals, like Green Berets and Rangers are highly trained combat troops and instructors and look like the are in the military, not like some stumble bum from down the block.
They are both very highly skilled in what they do. And you do not join Delta. You get chosen then you have to pass selection and a lot of other very demanding tests.
delta is a tier 1 SOF, seals are a tier 2 SOF. meaning they have different jobs. if you want to compare like forces, compare delta to devgru (devgru is relaly just a naval version of delta).
seals you can enlist into, talk to a navy recruiter.
you can volunteer for deltas selection process once you meet the requirements, or you can get invited to attend. most of those invited come from ranger regiment and special forces. talk to a recruiter about an option 40 contract or an 18X contract
