I was just wondering what military branch I have to join to get into the Navy Seals, or something like Splinter Cell. I know sounds far fetched, but I have always wanted to do this and I have been thinking about it a lot. Does anyone know?
Also is navy seals considered special forces, or is that an entirely different thing? If it is different, what branch is special forces in?

Too many video games. The stuff you are listing is harder than you could ever imagine and takes years of dedication to even get considered getting in the program.. Start out slow, cause the little Splinter Cell dream isn’t going to happen over night.
If you can’t figure out that you have to join the Navy to be a Navy Seal, then you need to stick with your video games.
With them being Navy SEALs, it would stand to reason that they’re part of the US Navy am I right? Seriously, if you have to ask questions like these on the basis of computer/video games then you’ll never have what it takes to be in any American Special Operations Unit.
BTW, Sam Fisher, according to his creator Tom Clancy, was a Navy SEAL and DEVGRU operative before joining a fictitious Covert Ops branch of the NSA. If you ever make it to DEVGRU then I’ll eat my own head.
You can also join up through the marines and he is perfect for the job he already has a sub average IQ,
Join the Navy or USMC, excel at all you do, be in outstanding physical shape, and then just submit a request. You’ll get weeded out if you can’t take it, but even getting accepted in the pool is laudable, in my opinion. I’m active duty Navy, and love the SEALs, but those guys work much harder than I ever want to.
You cannot get into the SEALS through any branch but the Navy. There’s a path through the Coast Guard, but if you make it, you’re out of the Coast Guard for the duration of your service with with the Navy. After the commitment (I believe it’s six years), the men have the option to return to the Coast Guard. If they use that option, they’re no longer SEAL. If you get into any other branch, you’re going to have to do an inter-service transfer… switch to Navy. VERY unlikely.
Technically, the only “Special Forces” are Army. But SEALs are “Special Operations” or “Special Warfare”
As far as “Splinter Cell,” I had no idea what that is. To my knowledge, there’s no such thing in the military. Just for the heck of it, I did a search and found it to be nothing more than a video game. My advice is to forget the video games, get outside, run, swim, climb, study, become strong and intelligent. I believe you’ll find that no special warfare outfit is going to care much if you scored high in some video game. The difference between Special Warfare and video games is that if you get killed for real, the “reset” button doesn’t work. Sorry if this seems condescending, but comparing real life… especially the military… to a video game is going to get you some flak.
All five branches have “Special Forces” or “Special Operations” Units.
The Navy Seals are one type of special forces unit for the Navy.
You must join the Navy, have a specialty, that is needed by the Navy AND the Seals, you must be in extremely good physical and mental condition just to begin the several months of extensive training. Good luck.
